I’ve run across a few people’s work that include self-portraits of this type. I’ve always wanted to try it but never got around to it. It’s not a very exciting picture but it’s kind of fun to create. This is 4 separate images taken with a tripod to ensure everything in the picture is consistent. Then I merged them together in Photoshop using the mask tool that allows you to erase different parts of each layer. Since the lighting and exposure were all relatively close, the pictures blend together fairly seemlessly. I might try some other creative ones down the road.
